Just saying...

Our golden (hint, hint) Premier is at it, again. He's starting to be consistent in making weekly statements of backtalk and whitewash. This week, it's the budget. Eddy's back at the market selling a bear skin, off a bear he has yet to kill. His government made bleak projections regarding our financial year-end as a Province. Then gave themselves, & Eddy, nice raises. And then took a meager pay cut to offset public disapproval of those raises. And within a few days, announces that, maybe, it was OK to get the raises because Alberta isn't going to be in as much debt as first thought. Eddy, you're killing us. (Personally, with laughter & fear). I don't think I'm assuming alot when I say that most of those who support the Stelmach government, as of late, are not the ones waiting to go back to work for companies barely making ends meet. What is our government's stimulus plan, currently? Last week, Mr. Stelmach, you talked about the "C group" not being educated/skilled enough to be employed. Did you think about this as you made cuts to education funding, in the prior months. Most Albertans didn't read the fine print, but sassylassy did. With those pay raises came an amendment stating that attending parliamentary meetings (listed as a job requirement for a politician, I do believe) would no longer be part of the salary paid, but would be compensated at a separate rate, above salary. I, commoner, still read this as part of a raise, plus, plus. Our finance minister is not help, either. Miss. Evans has managed to keep her position despite numerous unexplained errors in judgement and management of our province's finances. Last year's disastrous investing of The Heritage Fund can not be overlooked. Miss. Evans used the global economic collapse as the cause of the losses. As anybody familiar with accounting would know, putting everything in high risk is covered as a no-no in Accounting 101. An unforgivable mistake by a department who should have "education/skills" to know not to make such mistakes. This end of year is looking bleaker than last. For all Albertans, except those in office. I haven't really noticed any of them budgeting their family's next month of living, while trying to fit in Christmas, too. Anybody-else notice the tan on Eddy? Not bad for somebody with such an all consuming office job. Our Prime Minister is showing the stresses of his post, during these trying times. Not Steady Eddy. He doesn't even look worried about Alberta's current state. Why should he be worried. It's not like he's in it for life, right?
